Bleeding During Pregnancy

Although you may have heard of women that had "periods" during pregnancy, the truth is you cannot be pregnant and be having periods at the same time. Once a woman conceives her body starts producing HCG and her menstrual cycle stops. This is not to say that a woman cannot have bleeding that resembles a period when she is pregnant, but the bleeding is not actually a period. This can be confusing for some and this is why you may know someone that claims to have had a period while she was pregnant.

From the biological point of view menstruating during pregnancy is not possible because the brain is sending the uterus different instructions than in the time of periods. The uterus prepares now for the development of the baby so certain things change in the actions that it has. It is quite normal for women to experience little bleeding at the start of the pregnancy, but if bleeding still occurs later on in the pregnancy mostly in the last trimester doctors should be checked with right away.

Placental Complications

Heavy bleeding during pregnancy can be caused by several placental complications the most common are Placental Abruption and Placenta Previa. Placental Abruption is a condition where the placenta abruptly disengages itself from the uterine wall. It is generally brought on by an extreme trauma, such as a car accident or a fall, and should be tended to by your physician immediately.

Pre-Eclampsia

It's one of the common problems in the late pregnancy. Be warned if you have a high blood pressure more than 140/90, excessive weight gain, swollen ankles or hands, and traces of protein in your urine. See your doctor immediately if you have any of these symptopms.

Abdominal pain during pregnancy can also indicate a miscarriage. A miscarriage is usually signaled by bleeding in your vagina, followed by cramping. The cramps can last between several hours and several days.

Again, if you're experiencing abdominal pains, along with other symptoms that may indicate a more serious issue, consult your doctor immediately.

Some miscarriages can't be avoided. They are due to natural abnormalities, or something else beyond your control. However, there are certain actions you can take to minimize the likelihood of a miscarriage, or prevent a threatened miscarriage happening. There's no definitive way of how to avoid a miscarriage -- just keep a sensible attitude and stay vigilant.

Abnormal Pregnancy Spotting

There are several other reasons for spotting. Abnormal spotting can last for days and may be caused by changes in the hormones of a pregnant woman or a reduced level of progesterone.

Pregnancy spotting is also a sign of premature labor or whenever the placenta separates from the uterus, spotting can occur. There are many other possible reasons for spotting like uterine fibroids, any vaginal infection, endometriosis or any STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), cancer or infection. Therefore, one should never ignore it and take appropriate treatment as per the doctor's advice.

Remember not all women experience implantation bleeding so if you are trying to conceive you may be pregnant with or without implantation bleeding! If you do not experience implantation bleeding or if you are late for your period and you are getting negative results on your pregnancy test please make an appointment with your doctor as something else might be going on with your body.

Read About Natural Remedies Also Read About Pregnancy due date and Bleeding during pregnancy

Pregnancy brings with it a multitude of guessing games; guessing the gender of your baby; guessing what your baby will look like; guessing the nature of your delivery and when the big day will actually arrive. Your pregnancy due date – calculated with a multitude of formulas – is certainly not set in stone. But nevertheless, calculating your pregnancy due date is still necessary – and exciting.

What Is Your Due Date?

It’s the likely date the stork will visit you. But when is that? Various pregnancy calculators are used to make this magical calculation.

The age of the developing baby is called the "gestational age." Since the exact date of conception is seldom known, the date of the mother's last period is often used to begin calculating when the baby is due. The normal due date is 40 weeks after the first day of the last menstrual period.

Early Detection Pregnancy Tests

Early detection pregnancy tests facilitate access to important and basic information to the would be mothers. These tests can be done easily at home with the help of a urine sample which tells us about the quantity of the Telltale hormone- human chorionic gonadotrophin or HCG in our body. The HCG gets diluted during early stages of pregnancy and can be measured through a urine sample taken for conducting the early pregnancy test.

Ultrasound Of Different Stages

This method lets your doctor have an insight into the stage of pregnancy development. Generally, doctors recommend ultrasound during your first trimester pregnancy stage. It is not advisable to carry out frequent ultrasound tests, as this can be detrimental to the growth of your baby.

How To Use A Pregnancy Due Date Calendar

It is not as difficult as you might think to be able to use a pregnancy due date calendar. You don't need to be an expert of pregnancy. Just read the instructions on the due date calendar and follow them carefully. If you are familiar with your menstrual cycle, it will be easier for you to get some accurate information from your pregnancy due date calendar.

Many doctors use the pregnancy due date calculator even before an ultrasound test. After a comprehensive examination, be prepared to hear your doctor's estimation of the due date, which could be different from yours by a few days or weeks. This is because your doctor has had the advantage of a full physical exam.

A pregnancy due date calendar will ask you to input your last known menstrual period. Think back carefully and enter the exact date your last period started. Do not enter a date when you only experienced spotting - enter the date when your flow for that month actually began. Even though you were not pregnant then, this will be dated as the first week of your gestation.

As your pregnancy progresses there are week by week advancements in development, the heart starts beating, the baby grows in size, the cerebellum starts forming during week 8 and by week 9 you can determine whether you are having a boy or girl. The baby becomes more active after week 9. The muscle structure varies in each baby and the baby starts to show eccentricity by week 11. This is a very important and interesting stage of growth in a child when you analyze pregnancy week by week development.

Read About Natural Remedies Also Read About Pregnancy due date and Bleeding during pregnancy
